STORY STEWARDSHIP
Every Story Deserves More Than an Editor. It Deserves a Steward.
Through Story Stewardship, I help writers develop both their manuscripts and their craft.
Whether you're beginning with a rough draft or preparing for publication, my goal is to honor your unique voice while guiding your story toward its most compelling form and equipping you with tools you'll carry into every future writing project.
The W.O.R.D. Ink Philosophy
At W.O.R.D. Ink, Story Stewardship is rooted in four guiding principles.
W — Write
Every great story begins with the courage to start.
Honor the messy beginning. Trust the creative process. Give yourself permission to write imperfectly before striving for perfection.
O — Observe
Great writers become great observers.
Observe your own writing with fresh eyes. Notice recurring patterns, hidden strengths, unanswered questions, and opportunities waiting to emerge. Learn to read your own work with the same curiosity and clarity that skilled editors bring to every manuscript.
R — Revise
Revision is where stories discover their deepest potential.
Together, we'll strengthen structure, refine language, sharpen purpose, and uncover the heart of the story you've been trying to tell all along.
D — Discover
In the end, every manuscript reveals two stories: the one you've written, and the writer you've become.
Through Story Stewardship, you'll leave not only with a stronger manuscript but with greater confidence, sharper instincts, and a deeper understanding of your craft.
Story Stewardship
Story Stewardship is the practice of walking alongside both the writer and the manuscript through every stage of the creative journey.
It combines thoughtful editing, intentional teaching, collaborative coaching, and faithful encouragement so every story grows into its fullest expression without ever losing the unique voice that made it worth telling.
Write with courage. Observe with curiosity. Revise with purpose.
Write with courage. Observe with curiosity. Revise with purpose.
More Than an Editor. A Story Steward.
Some editors focus on the manuscript. Some coaches focus on the writer.
Story Stewardship embraces both.
Every writer arrives with a different vision, experience level, and publishing goal. One may simply want a polished manuscript. Another may want to understand why certain revisions strengthen their work so they become stronger storytellers long after this project is finished.
My role is to meet you exactly where you are.
That means quietly polishing each sentence behind the scenes. It means rolling up our sleeves together, asking better questions, exploring new possibilities, and helping your story become everything it can be.
What never changes is my commitment to serving both the manuscript and the writer.
